Food Safety and Quality Analysis Division

 

Vision:

Food Safety and Quality Analysis division focuses research, training, outreach and consultancy services through nuclear and related techniques to ensure food safety and security.  The division emphasizes on food quality and safety, hazard identification, risk assessment, food preservation and processing, nutritional analysis and convenient food development.

 

Mission:

  • To develop safe food by maintaining the nutrition and quality as well as by controlling the risk of foodborne pathogens using nuclear technology and other complementary methods
  • Reduction of post-harvest losses by developing safe food preservation technologies using nuclear technology and other complementary methods
  • Ensuring food security by increasing food availability through convenient food development to meet dietary need for consumers which leads to socio-economic development of Bangladesh
  • Human resources development in the field of food safety and quality research contributing to public health well-being / protection in Bangladesh.
